Tri.form is designed to accommodate the many social contexts and utilitarian demands that we require of our trusty bags as we go about our days. Transforming easily from a generously sized tote, to a purse, and then to a clutch, Tri.form can elegantly make the transition from work to bar to box seats.
When creating a customer profile, it became clear that any accessory this woman would carry should be able to function naturally in a wide variety of settings. Though the market showed a number of efforts toward transformation, they were restricted to size and failed to address function or style.
Many concepts were explored, all of which transformed the function and style of the bag in a different way. The final design was chosen for it's elegant but contemporary style in all of its forms, and for its ease of transformation.
Pattern development started in paper and moved to muslin, which included the magnets that would ultimately hold the bag in its intended configurations. The muslin mock-up allowed for user testing.
